Web Monkey, Super Hero
Born in Little Rock in 1971, this under-achiever dropped out of college. When she got kicked out of Air Force Space Command for being transgender, she took her family back to Arkansas and started a long list of short careers such as analytical chemist, manufacturing statistician, and fluid power engineer. Finally making her way to Tennessee in the mid 1990s where she worked as a software engineer for Philips, her wife had enough of this crap, left and took the kids, leaving her stranded. Eventually, Carla met an angel named Jaime Combs who was very beautiful but made Carla do far too much housework. Carla often dreams of running away and working on a shrimp boat, but she’s compelled to stay here and stick it to the man. Every once in a while, she says or does something clever, but it usually turns out to be an accident. Carla likes to wear spandex costumes.
Board Member, President Emeritus
A native Knoxvillian, and Bearden alum, Todd credits his decision to leave town and attend Clemson for the independence and drive that defines him. Having been a Young Life leader, President of his Sigma Chi Pledge Class & of his Alumni Chapter and Chapter Advisor to his alma mater, Todd spent much of his free time in SC volunteering with causes dear to him. Back in TN in 2000, he continued that leadership as a founder of the Knoxville Human Rights Group, with service on the boards of TEP, the Knoxville Ski and Outing Club, & Positively Living and as the founding President of ETEC. Having sold out of the brokerage business he joined after college, Todd is now President of his family business, Johnstone Supply. He is thankful for his relationship with God, the love, support & recent marriage to his soul mate, Ernie, their dogs Hopps and Tiger, and the rest of their family and friends.
